Crisp, Cool Climate Wines
SINGLE VINEYARD
Our Vineyard and Wines
Our 7.1 acre vineyard is home to seven grape varieties, including three white grapes of German origin: Siegerrebe, Ortega, and Kerner. We also grow Maréchal Foch, a French American hybrid that forms the backbone of many of our red wines, along with Pinot Noir, our newest addition to the vineyard.
Many visitors notice that some of our grape varieties are less familiar than those found in other wine regions. That’s because the Shuswap has fewer growing degree days than many parts of British Columbia. The varieties we’ve chosen ripen earlier and are better suited to our cooler climate, allowing us to consistently produce wines that reflect both our vineyard and our region.
The January 2024 winter freeze was one of the most challenging seasons our vineyard has experienced. While it impacted our 2024 white grape harvest and led us to work with trusted growers in Washington and British Columbia for a small number of wines, our vineyard has recovered well. Today, we’re proud to once again be crafting our wines primarily from the estate grown grapes that define Sunnybrae Winery.

Twisted Path
Twisted Path is crafted with intention yet embraces the spirit of its ever-changing journey. Shuswap L’Acadie Blanc and Petit Milo, Vancouver Island Ortega and Gewürztraminer from Lake Country come together in our driest white to offer a clean, crisp and balanced wine.
Aromas of candied peach lead into a crisp palate of green apple, pear, and bright citrus.

Siegerrebe
Our estate-grown Siegerrebe is a beautifully expressive white that captures the essence of a Shuswap summer. Sun drenched days are chased by cool, evening breezes spilling down from Bastion Mountain, producing a highly aromatic and fruit-forward profile, balanced with a lively acidity.
Sweet mandarin and floral aromas open into juicy nectarine, apricot, and citrus, finishing with a hint of tart marmalade.
**Partial proceeds from each bottle sold goes to First Responders of the Shuswap**

Ortega
Our estate-grown Ortega is quietly complex offering a soft and rounded palate whilst maintaining a clean and refreshing finish. A versatile white that pairs well with light summer dishes or savoured on its own as the sun sets over Shuswap Lake.
Stone fruit and orange blossom on the nose. A smooth palate of cantaloupe, peach, and citrus is lifted by a subtle ginger spice.

Kerner
Our estate-grown Kerner is hand-harvested with lively acidity, setting the stage for a wine that is bright and juicy in character. Try it with glazed ham, soft cheeses or spicy cuisine.
Aromas of lime leaf carry through into a zesty and vibrant palate of lime and pineapple, finishing bright and refreshingly tropical.

Rosé Cuvée
A thoughtful blend of Shuswap & Vancouver Island varietals with a touch of Maréchal Foch. Our Rose Cuvee is light and refreshing, a medley of red summer fruit that brings celebration to all those special moments whether lakeside, fireside or anywhere in between.
Fresh strawberries on the nose continue into a delicate palate of white cherry, red currant and pomegranate.

Maréchal Foch
Our estate-grown Maréchal Foch is dry, medium-bodied and aged 5 months with French oak to compliment its textural layers whilst maintaining its fresh and fruity acidity. Pair a glass with stone-baked margherita pizza.
Aromas of blackberry and blueberry with subtle toasted notes. A fresh palate of juicy, black fruit leads to earthy notes and sour cherry on the finish.

Bastion Mountain Red
Our estate-grown Maréchal Foch, finished off-dry and aged 5 months with a combination of French and American oak offering, a medium-bodied red that is bold and juicy with depth of flavour. Fire up the barbeque for this one and enjoy with grilled meats.
Subtle toast and butterscotch frame a velvety palate of black cherry and plum, finishing with intriguing notes of cocoa.

Redneck Red
A true Shuswap original showcasing 100% Maréchal Foch from three local vineyard sites: Sunnybrae, Ovino and Tappen Creek. Fruit-forward and unoaked, it’s an easy-drinking red that compliments any occasion where good times are required!
Bursting with bright, juicy cherry and raspberry, layered with playful hints of cola.

Pinot Noir
Our half-acre parcel of estate-grown Pinot Noir is hand-tended from vineyard to bottle. Aged 8 months in neutral French oak barrels with a touch of new oak, this wine offers an honest expression of place with bright fruit, supple tannins, and elegant structure.
Bright notes of red cherry and wild strawberry are complemented by a hint of delicate toast. The palate is fresh with supple tannins carrying through to a balanced and elegant finish.

Piquette 250ml
Light, bubbly and low-alcohol, our Piquette is the perfect summer refreshment. Crafted by rehydrating and fermenting pressed grape skins, this upcycled creation is a deliciously sustainable way to make the most of every last bit of fruit.
An effervescent palate of crisp apple and citrus.

Sunnybrae Siegerrebe 2021
This is a deliciously aromatic and correct siegerrebe that comes from the Shuswap. It seems perfectly suited to the site and has been made with a gentle hand. It is full of roses and fresh litchi with a dusting of minerality and citrus. You can drink this solo or with lightly spiced appetizers. Good value.
