Welcome to Sunnybrae Vineyards and Winery. Our wines are handcrafted with care from our single vineyard at the base of Bastion Mountain and the shores of Shuswap Lake, where two Belgian draft horses once cultivated the farmland.

Our Vineyard and Wines
Our vineyard is planted to 7.1 acres of grape vine with 3 white varieties of german origin (Siegerrebe, Ortega, Kerner), a French-American Red (Marechal Foch) used for the majority of our red wines and most recently, the infamous Pinot Noir. As many visitors have commented, some of these varietals are less known than what you might find elsewhere. Why is this? We see a lower amount of “growing degree days” here than other parts of BC. The varieties we have planted generally ripen earlier (and can also withstand colder winter temperatures at dormancy), making them a great fit for the Shuswap region.
2024 was all about Vintage Replacement and nurturing our vines back to health. The cold winter freeze of January 2024 decimated our 2024 white grape harvest.
Thanks to our neighbours in Washington, and some BC vineyards we were able to work with similar but new varieties to create our unique style of wines.
Rescue Series Gewurztraminer 2024 VR
Sunnybrae fans might be interested to hear that Gewürztraminer is a parent grapevine of Siegerrebe! Crafted at our winery from grapes grown in Washington, this limited release offers something like-minded yet new and exciting.
Stone fruit, lychee and clementine with a spicy finish.

Ortega 2024 BC VQA
This wine was sourced from Zanatta Vineyard: home of the first winery on Vancouver Island. Ortega is the original grape variety planted in the Cowichan Valley. Average growing degree days are similar to that of the Shuswap, yet the terrain and weather provides a climate unique to its own for this much loved, cool-climate wine.
A crisp medley of apples with a clean, citrus finish.
Riesling 2024 VR
A parent grapevine to our estate-grown Kerner, this highly popular white has been produced in a similar off-dry style. Crafted at our winery from grapes grown in Washington, we hope this limited release brings the refreshing and lively character that our Kerner fans know and love.
Orange blossoms with a playful dance of pineapple, lemon and lime.
Marechal Foch 2024 BC VQA
This wine is made from 100% Marechal Foch grapes grown on our Certified Sustainable Estate Vineyard. Aged with French oak, this dry, medium bodied red pairs well with stone-baked pizza night!
A silky palate of black fruits, cherry and cranberry lead to notes of black pepper and spice on the finish.
Sunnybrae Siegerrebe 2021
This is a deliciously aromatic and correct siegerrebe that comes from the Shuswap. It seems perfectly suited to the site and has been made with a gentle hand. It is full of roses and fresh litchi with a dusting of minerality and citrus. You can drink this solo or with lightly spiced appetizers. Good value.
